The sponsor of the Faces Photo Contest is Photo District News ("PDN"), 770 Broadway, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10003.

ENTRY PERIOD

The Contest begins March 2, 2012, at 12:01 am Pacific Daylight Time ("PDT") and ends May 23, 2012, at 11:59 pm PDT (the "Entry Deadline"). All Entries must be received by the Entry Deadline. An additional fee of $10 is required for each entry received between 12:00 a.m. PDT on May 23, 2012, and 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 6, 2012.

WHO MAY ENTER

Employees of Sponsors and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, and parent companies, affiliates and agents of Sponsors are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.

HOW TO ENTER

AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS

• To enter electronically, please visit www.facesphotocontest.com to register. Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Simply log onto the website and follow the online instructions to upload images from your computer. Images formatted in JPEG or TIFF measuring 1,000 pixels on their long dimension are preferred. Images may be color profiled in sRGB, Adobe-1998, or not color-managed. For more information on electronic submission guidelines see our FAQ.
• The entries will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined below.

CONTEST PRIZES

THE POTENTIAL WINNERS ARE REQUIRED TO EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING: (1) AN AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY AND LIABILITY RELEASE; (2) WARRANTY OF OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE; (3) PUBLICITY RELEASE; AND (4) ANY OTHER AFFIDAVITS AND/OR RELEASES OR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED BY PRIZE SUPPLIER(S). UNLESS PROHIBITED BY LAW, THE POTENTIAL WINNERS MUST SIGN THESE THREE DOCUMENTS NO LATER THAN 15 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION IN ORDER FOR SPONSORS TO AWARD THE PRIZE. NONCOMPLIANCE OR RETURN OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION AS UNDELIVERABLE MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND, AT SPONSORS' DISCRETION, SELECTION OF AN ALTERNATE WINNER.

• No prize transfer, assignment or substitution by winners permitted. If an offered prize is unavailable, Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
• Some restrictions apply; and each such prize is subject to availability.

• One professional and one amateur grand prize winner will each receive an Apple iPad 2, a light modulating photographic equipment package from California Sunbounce and a Crumpler bag.
• One professional grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift certificate from Adorama.
• All first place winners will each receive a $100 gift certificate from Adorama, a PhotoServe portfolio (worth $860), a PDN PhotoPlus International Gold Expo Pass, a Nielsen Photo Group Membership Package (worth $125) and a Crumpler bag.

ALL WINNING IMAGES WILL BE INCLUDED IN A WINNERS' GALLERY IN THE AUGUST 2012 ISSUE OF PDNAND IN AN EXTENDED ONLINE GALLERY.

JUDGING

• Contest consists of two (2) rounds of evaluation. In Round One a panel of Photo District News experts in photography (the "Judges") will each review a portion of the entries and select a group of entries to proceed to Round Two on the basis of creativity, sense of place and capturing the moment (the "Judging Criteria"). In Round Two, the Judges will collectively select, from among the entries selected in Round One, the prizes, based on the Judging Criteria.
• Winners will be selected on or about July 1, 2012 and notified by email or regular mail around the middle of July, 2012.
• Decisions of the Sponsors and Judges are final and binding.
• Sponsors reserve the right not to award all prizes in the event an insufficient number of eligible entries meeting the minimum judging criteria are received, as determined by Sponsors and Judges in their sole discretion.

CONSENT AGREEMENT

Submitted materials will not be returned. PDN is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry. Submission of an entry to the contest automatically constitutes the contestant's acceptance of all conditions set forth in the above rules. It also acknowledges the right of PDN and Photo District News to use the entry for publication on PDNonline.com and in exhibitions and promotions related to the Faces Photo Contest up to 24 months following the contest.

Entries not complying with the rules set forth above will be disqualified.

PDN is solely responsible for the administration of the contest, and sponsors are in no way affiliated with the contest or liable for any matters arising due to the contest.
